The beautiful and quiet Gopalpur sea beach will be more attractive on Sundays as traditional folk artists and local musicians would perform their beats on colourful stages in these days. Gopalpur is a famous sea beach and tourist destination around 15 km from Berhampur.

According to Sub-Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, the programme, named as ‘Sunday evening at Gopalpur’ would be performed by local talents and the district administration would provide all support. It would create a platform for promotion of tourism and development of local talents.

The cultural evening at the Gopalpour sea beach would be a two-hour programme and showcase the rich tradition of performing arts of Ganjam district, said organisers.

Folk music  and dance forms like Jodi Shankha, Ranapa, Daskathia, Palla, Ghanta Murdunga, Bagha Nata and Dhumpa Badya find a place in the programme itinerary. Popular folk theatre like Prahallad Natak, Bharat Lilla, Rama Lilla, Krushan Lilla and Radha Prema Lilla will also be performed.
