Centre Allocates 50 crore Rupees for WB Tourism Promotion

Tea Tourism in North Bengal

The Centre has allocated 50 crore rupees to the West Bengal Government for promotion of Tourism at Dooars in North Bengal. The State Tourism Minister, Mr. Rachpal Singh said this while inaugurating the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) in Kolkata.

Mr. Singh said that the Government has initiated steps for Tea Tourism in North Bengal covering tea gardens in Tarai, Dooars and Darjeeling region. He said that Government is also exploring new tourist spots besides development of existing establishments to generate employment and socio-economic progress of the respective areas.
